The Affirmation Station, provided by the African American Health Coalition, is a transformative mental health initiative designed to empower individuals through positive self-affirmation. This traveling exhibit invites event attendees to engage with themselves in a unique and meaningful way. As participants look into the mirror, they are encouraged to express positive affirmations verbally, reinforcing their self-worth and confidence. These affirmations are then written down on our affirmation board, creating a collective display of positivity and support.

The CHOP IT UP program, spearheaded by the African American Health Coalition (AfAHC), embodies a flexible and diverse approach to addressing health disparities within the African American community across the Greater Houston area. This comprehensive initiative comprises several targeted sectors, including CHOP IT UP: Financial Literacy, CHOP IT UP: The Black Box Edition (Nutrition Education), CHOP IT UP: Golden Edition (Senior Adult Initiative), and the CHOP IT UP: Barber and Beauty Shop Initiative (focusing on blood pressure and other health conditions). Each sector is designed to meet the unique needs of various populations, ensuring that our programming is inclusive and impactful.

Prescribing a Healthier Future Through Clinical Trial Participation

The Power RX Pharmacy is a captivating activation that educates and empowers communities about the critical role of clinical trial participation in developing effective treatments. Recently featured at the African American Health Power Summit, this innovative experience is designed to drive greater diversity in medical research. 

Visitors have the opportunity to create their own "prescriptions" for health and wellness on an RX pad, serving as a concrete reminder of their dedication to personal health. 

By combining education, empowerment, and a playful approach, the PowerRX Pharmacy initiative effectively engages and motivates individuals, tackling a critical public health issue and establishing itself as an essential resource for organizations committed to improving diversity and representation in medical research.
